Parenting bravery: what I learned from best mom friend

So today, at a local Splash Pad, my best mom friend and I decided to attend their last summer event. We had been there for about an hour, when we decided to let our little ones (each are about 18 months) run around and get some energy out, so we sat down nearby and starting talking. She had noticed that a man had come and sit on the edge of the splash pad as well, and appeared to be homeless (had brought a large cart of stuff like coats and blankets, and we live in Virginia). She had noticed him come without any kids, but had a lawn chair and a cooler. She was trying not to make judgement of why he was there, but then noticed that he had a pair of binoculars, and appeared to be looking at the kids. She pointed this guy out to me and his binoculars, and said that this guy was not acting normal. And asked me why he would have binoculars."Maybe he's bird watching?" I naively suggested. My friend, my super brave friend, decided that she was going to straight up ask him why he was there with binoculars. He tells her that he's a "modeling scout" for "Versace" and they needed kid models. No fucking way was he doing that, all a bunch of bullshit. He was looking at the kids in their bathing suits, and getting off to it.She comes back, and asks if we should go to the police, and I said absolutely. Fortunately, there was a police station adjacent to the splash pad, and the police took care of it. BUT MY FRIEND WAS SO FREAKING BRAVE GUYS. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE SHE GOT THE BALLS TO GO UP TO THIS PERV.So heres my psa: if you notice something weird, dont be afriad to offend strangers. You dont know there reasoning behind what they're doing. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2BC89qk
