Asking compared to "demanding" with a teen.

I have noticed lately that if I ask my teen to do something, it opens the floor to arguing, eyerolls, and debate.I am battling a nasty stomach flu this week and just asked her to "please let me have the bathroom". This resulted in her whining and saying "I'm busy doing my hair momm nooo!".So, I had to get angry and turn into the mean mom and tell her "RIGHT NOW BECAUSE YOU KNOW I AM SICK!" (she really does know I am sick). She complied immediately and opened the door but I had to raise my voice and this should not happen.Does any other mom of a teen find their teen only listens when they start yelling? Is everything up for debate when you use the word "please"? Age 13. Thanks. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2N3VAW5
