Sorry for format, mobile post here.My oldest son is 5yo and usually is a joy. His behavior is terrible though. In public, he wont sit up at the table or runs around in places where its not appropriate. DS throws some wild tantrums occasionally. Got one today that was destructive and manipulative. The teacher at the after school program he goes to has no idea what triggered this reaction. He started by screaming and throwing his shoes, then kicking walls and furniture, followed by scratching and biting HIMSELF. I don't understand! He would only answer my questions with "I don't know." My husband and I are beyond frustrated. I don't like spanking and will avoid it. Whenever he behaves this way he loses privileges like his shows and goes to bed early. We have an appointment for his pediatrician on Monday. I am beginning to believe there is more here than we can do. But am I missing something? Has anyone else experienced this in a child so old? I believe DS does this because he knows whoever is taking care of him will call me to pick him up. DS has been with this after school program for a very short time, less than a week. I cannot bring him to work with me, I've been getting in trouble for it and have been relieved that I found this program so close to home. But I can't expect them to continue to accept him due to his wild behavior. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2CCeUZA
