Going to start off by saying my kids are fine but want to remind folks getting a good photo isnt worth risking injury/death to your child/grandchild and DO NOT WAIT to call the parents/emergency if something happens. My wife and i have a couple family members that watch our kids one does one day the other the other day (we only need a sitter 2 days a week). I got a message while driving home from work to give the person a call, thinking well if it was bad i would have gotten a call so i waited until i arrived home to make the call. When i made the call it was news i did not want to hear. My 4 month old daughter was left unattended on the counter for a second when she rolled off of it and landed on her back on the tile floor. Why was she on the counter? they were trying to do pictures and the person turned for one second to get the pacifier since the baby was getting upset. Oh did i mention this happened a couple hours before the text message? And they didnt want to worry my wife so i was their only contact was to me after i was out of work. I also find out that they had let my daughter take a nap after it happened. Long story short i called my wife, we all met at the hospital, with me grabbing my own mother on the way as i needed someone with me to keep me sane on the way. Thankfully hospital finds everything to be fine with her just some soreness in her back but everything looks like she will be fine. What amazed me is both the hospital and our doc the next day said "these things happen". My wife(who's a nurse) and i were shocked at that statement. But the point of all this is pictures aren't worth risking a child's life, never turn your attention from a child in a potentially dangerous situation and if something does happen don't wait to call the parents/hospital. A lot can happen in a short time if you fail to act. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2z83ie1
