Hello this is my first time posting here so sorry if I am breaking any of this subs norms by asking this but here's my question:So, one of my relatives just reached out to me because she is concerned that her 4 year old daughter is beginning to gain too much weight and she wanted me to give her advice on a proper diet for her. Now, I don't think anyone should be placing their kid on a 'diet' at that young of an age. In my opinion, the best thing to do is to make sure your kid is getting a few healthy meals a day and to try to keep mostly healthy snacks around the house to remove the temptation of eating junk foods as much as possible. But I know if I recommend this to them they will take the advice with a grain of salt because it is so obviously easy and it seems they're looking for a specific 'diet plan.'To give a little context, these guys go out to eat all the time, order in pizza, etc., and consequently are all a bit overweight themselves. So, how do I put it nicely to them that really what the problem is is that they're all eating unhealthy and that is reflecting onto their kid since she is forced to eat the unhealthy foods that they eat? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2hhiLhj
