First time poster here, please someone tell me we are not crazy. Our son is 20 months old, and both last summer and this summer my mom and dad (who are both teachers) have wanted to watch our kiddo for a few days. They even have a name for it. Gramps Camp.Even before we had children, my wife and I agreed that we weren't going to do sleepovers until our kids are old enough to talk. This is for a variety of reasons. Basically we just want to communicate with our children that we are leaving, but we will be back.... also we want to hear how their stay was. Did anything good, bad, weird, or othwewise happen? We have told my parents that this is our rule and they continue to ask to keep him overnight and finally for the second summer have asked about Gramps Camp (last summer my mom ended up just staying a few days at our house and still called it Grams Camp.) But this year they want to keep him at their house (an hour away) for a few days.I know they are upset we keep saying no, and I almost feel like they think we are being selfish or cruel or that we don't trust them, but I don't think it is a super weird rule. Can i get some reassurance, r/parenting? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2tAdn0n
