I could use some reassurance or some harsh truth.I've been planning a trip out of state for 5 days for my SO's 30th birthday in August. His 1st birthday will be the week before. We're confident that everyone who is going to be watching him while we're gone can handle all of his physical needs (mostly grandparents, w/ backup from a variety of relatives, friends and a babysitter we really like). But I'm starting to get really nervous about how he will do emotionally. When we're home alone with him, he has recently started getting upset anytime we leave the room or even when we put him down to play. Separation anxiety is supposed to be kicking in at this age (10 months) I think, so that's to be expected I guess. He's fine whenever grandma and grandpa take him for hours at a time though. They've been helping us out pretty much since he was born, so he's very used to them. But, is 5 days too much? Will he start freaking out? I don't want to do emotional damage to him.I'm also starting to think I may just end up being worried and miss him the entire trip and not be able to enjoy it at all. I'm sure we're going to be harassing everyone for updates constantly. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or are we crappy parents for considering it at all? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2rfT4DJ
