Suspecting Aspergers- how to ask therapist?

8.5 y/o daughter has been in regular therapy appointments for anxiety related issues for 8 or 9 months (except the past month, we temporarily lost our state insurance because I forgot to update income, but it's back now), with little to no improvement. We have had to switch therapists twice in that time due to people relocating, getting promoted, etc, and we start with our third and newest one at our next appointment. We have been in the same clinic the whole time.I've long suspected something more is going on with kiddo other than just anxiety for some time now, and I'm recently concerned it may be aspergers. Her behavior is progressively getting worse/more demanding the older she gets and it seems like much more than anxiety, to the point where her demands and struggles are weighing heavy on the entire family. We can't really go out in busy public places anymore without her having some sort of bizarre MELTDOWN. She's so sensitive when she's upset if I touch her shoulder she yelps and shouts at me to stop pushing her, or she incessantly chants 'why are you so mad at me?!' when literally no one is even upset. My issue is, how do I bring it up with the new therapist in a way they will hear me and take the concern seriously? Should I take a point by point list of all the symptoms/troubling behaviors? Should I just tell them I think she needs a new intake assessment, or a screening for autism spectrum disorders?Any supportive feedback, advice or guidance is really appreciated guys. We are feeling so overwhelmed and just sad that we cannot help our kiddo work through these big emotions she is dealing with. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2F41jr3
