My son is 9, and generally is a sweet as can be, with normal moments of child behavior. He has been diagnosed and is being treated for A.D.D. and has responded well to treatment. We have recently moved and while things were a bit chaotic(we also had a death in the family immediately after moving) things settled down and we resumed life.In the past two weeks, we have received several calls and messages from his bus driver about how he has been moved several times because he is treating the children around him harshly and this Monday she told me that he threatened to punch a kindergartner. When questioned about these things, he states that the other children are saying mean things to him and that he either didn't do it or he is saying things back because of what they have said to him.His excuse for the punching allegation was that the other little boy was the one telling him that he was going to get his mother to punch my son.His story changes a lot, and we have had some issues with lying lately, so it's hard to believe anything he says as the truth. Especially when everyone else's stories contradict his.Today I received a message from his teacher stating that my son had pushed another child at breakfast and had caused that child to fall backwards into another student, causing that child to drop his tray, making a mess.I messaged his teacher back saying that we had been having some behavioral issues and had had several talks with our son about personal responsibility, keeping our hands to ourselves and about the power of our words, and remembering that just because someone else says something hurtful to us, it doesn't mean we need to respond. We've talked to him about how his actions effect others, we've talked and talked and talked. We've talked about consequences and how some have the ability to follow us around long after our actions. We've taken things away, we've grounded, and those sorts of things only seem to fuel his behavior.I'm not sure what to do. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2E4UBnn
