Are apparently not "please" and "thank you" as we've all been taught, at least not when talking to a toddler. The magic words I've stumbled upon are "almost done" and "last time".It started out as "last bite" when DS was around 1. It not only stopped tantrums when the food was, in fact, gone, but he would also take a single bite of almost anything we put in front of him. Eventually he started struggling with moving from one activity to the next so "last bite" morphed into "last time" or "almost done".My wife and I get a tantrum every single time we forget to warn him he's almost done with something but we rarely get one when we do.Magic via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2D3aSqc
