I recently had to take my four year old in for vaccinations...

Fostering a four year old who came from a neglectful home. He had never had vaccinations in his entire life, it was a miracle that he hadn't gotten sick before. It became my job to take him to the clinic to get four years worth of vaccinations done.I think I might be caring for a sadomasochist. He had fun. No tears, tantrums, screams, nothing. He must have an insanely high pain tolerance. That or a ton of courage, maybe both. It hurt, I can tell that he felt it and didn't like it, but he sat through it like a champ. He got his favorite junk food and a new toy out of the deal, so he had a reason to look forward to it all. Each time the PA administered an injection she'd tell him that the serum would grant him another superpower. He left with a ton of band-aids and in his mind a host of powers that made him invulnerable. I think I love this kid. Props to the PA for thinking of such a clever idea. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2hwiKXu
