Another update if anybody was wondering. We picked up the 11(F) from the treatment facility and it doesn’t seem to have helped. We’re 3 weeks from her being home and things are right back where they are. Being physically abusive to her other 2 siblings (mostly her brother), my wife, and myself. She’s constantly combative towards anything she’s asked to do. Its like walking on egg shells and we’re all scared about saying something that would set her off. Constantly slams doors, yells at everybody, and if she doesn’t get her way, literally will destroy anything that is in her reach. The medication she is on, doesn’t seem to help. There are problems at school and with her brother. The brother did something that upset everybody, and running his mouth at school where she was for a week and all of her friends have turned against her. She has issues with male authority figures (well, no shit), and her first teacher of the day is a male. And this just causes issues during the morning routine. We are at our wits ends and the constant stress when everybody is home makes homelife terrible for everybody involved. She’s got a load of anger to let loose and she needs a better avenue that doesn’t include destroying everything in sight. While she was in treatment we retained an attorney to see what the options were since she had said her Dad had touched her inappropriately. We filed an emergency protective order with the local county that included no contact for either the 11(F) or the 10(M). We also filed a police report with the city that it occurred in. CPS also got involved (as expected). The 11(F) did mention to the case worker that there was sexual abuse by her Dad. This proceeded an actual forensic interview with a special investigator that knows how to navigate her story. She told the exact same story. Behind a one way mirror, the CPS worker and the detective assigned to the case witnessed everything she was saying. The detective is going to recommend charges be brought forth on her Dad. It’ll be awhile the detective has 35 other cases in front of hers. The EPO now does not have an expiration date until all this is being sorted out. He’s retained an attorney obviously but it will get escalated from a family attorney to a criminal defense attorney. As of today, he’s still refused to be interviewed with CPS.We are working closely with CPS at this point because we aren’t equipped at all on how to help this poor girl. She has an intake at another facility that focuses on sexual abuse in minors and that program is 9a-3p but can’t start until probably February. In the meantime, we’re going to un-enroll her in her current school and have her stay at my wife’s parents house (about 20 minute drive) and go to school in that district. Before moving to where we are now, she spent most of her time with those particular kids. We’re hoping the change of scenery, being an “only child” (that would have somebody’s attention 100% of the time), and less stress of living with one sibling that reminds her of her Dad, will improve things. She’ll be there Sunday to Friday and with us on the weekends (or play it by ear) CPS has agreed they’ve been extremely helpful so far. My wife didn’t want to go the CPS route, but we really don’t have anything to hide. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2kgRlNj
