I am pretty new to Reddit. Please bear with me. I am begging for any advice and input and anything anyone can give me.My 8 year old suffered HIE at birth. Has secondary mild cerebral palsy. Walks, runs, eats, normal intelligence. Mainly has muscle weakness and spasticity in some muscles through out his body. Here's my biggest concern. He is non verbal. To this day, no one has been able to give me one solid answer on why. He attempts to speak, understands spoken language, follows directions, like I said is of normal intelligence and not autistic. His CP is very mild throughout his body and most people that have grade one cp, seem to have the ability to speak. We have done speech therapy since he was born. Nobody can seem to find a way to help him get his words out. He mostly can only make the sounds "uh" "unh" and "ah". He does have a speech device but I desperately want to find a way to help him create these sounds with his oral muscles and be able to speak the words he thinks. Please help me if you have any ideas. I will pay anything. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2zFHiEE
