When did you put your toddlers in activities? How did you chose?

I have a 3.5 yr old. He goes to day care during the day 7am to 5pm. He likes a lot of things, but doesn't have the attention span for much. We can't even sit down to watch a kids movie because he's bored 20 min in. If I have him help me in the kitchen he's easily distracted and off the task at hand after a few min. He'll show interest in things like dancing or soccer when we are just playing around at home. Some of my coworkers/neighbors take their kids who are slightly older (within a year) to do youth sports or dance or cooking. Should this be something that is started so early even if their attention span stinks? And how do you chose which activity to start with? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2y1pTGA
